Hi, I’m John Tukker — a proud father and husband, lifelong traveler, seasoned executive in the aerospace and defense industry, and someone with a deep-rooted love for community and public service.
🇳🇱 From the Netherlands to the USA 🇺🇸
My journey began in the Netherlands, where I was raised by two incredible role models — my father, a dedicated police chief, and my mother, a compassionate HR director. In 1998, I made the life-changing decision to move to the United States, embracing new opportunities, challenges, and a culture of freedom, responsibilities, hard work and compassion that felt like home from the very beginning.
I proudly became a U.S. citizen in 2009.

I’m a proud dad to one amazing son and stepdad to three wonderful daughters.
Family is my foundation, and being a present and supportive parent is one of the greatest joys of my life.
✈️ A Global Perspective
My professional path has taken me across the world. With over 20 years of executive experience in the aerospace and defense industry, I’ve led teams, driven innovation, and partnered on complex global initiatives.
I’ve visited 44 out of 50 U.S. states and explored dozens of countries — and with every trip, my appreciation for diverse people and perspectives grows.
⚽⛷ Passion and Play
Outside of work, I’m an avid soccer fan and lifelong skier. For years I have coached many different teams – girls/boys, club/high school, competive/developmental.
Whether I’m watching a match, carving down a mountain, or exploring a new city, I believe in living life with energy, curiosity, and heart.

I've always believed that strong communities start with strong leadership. Becoming mayor has been a dream of mine for years — not for the title, but for the opportunity to give back, preserve what makes our Tega Cay special, and plan responsibly for the future.
With roots in both public service and executive leadership, I’m ready to bring that experience to work for the people of Tega Cay.
